Liar Liar

We men of the five-county Twin-Cities metro area have a message for all girls and women residing or visiting within our aforementioned territory (and, of course, I speak for all of us), who attend or plan to attend the State Fair in St Paul, Hennepin County Fair, Anoka County Fair, Nowthen Threshing Showing, the Renaissance Festival, casually roam in and out of restaurants and Cub Food grocery stores within shopping centers, and so on:

We want of you gals much less public-immodesty exhibitionism of your warm-weather-excused nude sleevesless arms, naked slacksless legs, socksless toes and ankles bared in sandals....and much more solicitation from you all to become our own private common-law concubines for both your and our sexual gratification and fulfillment.

What use is it when you have your long hair decently tied into a single back-of-head ponytail while biking or jogging....and yet are baring your nude arms and toes and legs with shorts to us hapless victims who have no intention of promptly making sexual use of you noxious sex objects as our own spouses?

To impose the irrationalization that you are exposing your bodies lewdly and licentiously because "it's the seasonal style and fashion" and "we want to stay cool" -- your lurid and lascivious style and fashion seriously needs to change according to Biblical parameters found in Numbers 5, RSV's/NASB's Second Samuel 13:18, Isaiah 20 and 47, Jeremiah 2, Ezekiel 16 and 23, and First Timothy 2 and 5 [KJV] so that we men do not need to consider letting radical islamic fundamentalists of the ISIS and other types establish cultic-allah/koran strict-modesty "sharia" law involving actual stoning or decapitation similar to that having already happened in Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, or other Middle Eastern countries.

You are NOT "cool" displaying your should-be-covered body parts in either the hippie sense, nor in a heatstroke/sunstroke-avoiding way either; consider the moslem girls and women who wear shawls and robes in desert heat and yet do not faint with heat exhaustion. Are you pathetic and disgusting wimps ready to laughingly collapse if you modestly wear anti-sunburn light cotton long sleeves and long slacks and light white socks, and by your obscene and sexually-harassive misdress and abusive spam-like visual assaults against us men do you therefore infer by default that burka and hijab-attired muslim females are a stronger and more righteous culture and society than you near-bikini-bared perverts here in America?

And you wonder why some of us men reluctantly but with determination and zeal turn in disgust from you prudish tantalizers, deserting and leaving you without us would-have-been opposite-gender erotic partners, while we go off on fervent search and rescue porn-acquisition-and-deployment missions after you have insanely incited and aroused us, lusting at no-cost/no-priced all-nude female-human imagery that and not who will not refuse us with capricious religious-hypocrisy frigidity.

Keep in mind that you mis-dressed are imposing a diabolical dilemma against us, because for us neither fornication nor adultery is a legitimate and viable option, even though there are expensive masseuse and escort servicers available from City Pages, Backdoor.com, and the Yellow Pages. Why drive us to same-gender, women-excluding, male-with-male homosexuality by your feminist-sexist-exacerbated bodily immodesty?

Now, on to the main subject.

Today (as of this writing), on the radio at 1280 The Patriot, Dennis Prager expressed his anger against someone who apparently laughed at him when Dennis insinuated that telling one lie did not constitute someone being considered a serial liar, and a respondent had e-mailed Dennis the question: "How many lies does it take to get the reputation of being a liar?"

Thoughts worth further consideration.

How many murders does it take for one to be considered a murderer? How many rapes does it take for one to be considered a rapist? How many incidents of shoplifting does it take for one to be considered a petty thief? How many adulterous affairs to whatever degrees does it take to be deemed an adulteress?

Exodus 22:16 If a man seduces a virgin who is not betrothed, and lies with her, he shall give the marriage present for her, and make her his wife.

Leviticus 15:18 If a man lies [dishonestly "lies?"] with a [naked or clothed?] woman and has an emission of semen, both of them shall bathe themselves in water, and be unclean until the evening.

Leviticus 19:20 If a man lies carnally with a woman who is a slave, betrothed to another man and not yet ransomed or given her freedom, an inquiry shall be held. They shall not be put to death, because she was not free.
Leviticus 20:11 The man who lies with his father's wife has uncovered his father's nakedness; both of them shall be put to death, their blood is upon them.
Leviticus 20:12 If a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall be put to death; they have committed incest, their blood is upon them.
Leviticus 20:13 If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death, their blood is upon them.
Leviticus 20:15 If a man lies with a beast, he shall be put to death; and you shall kill the beast.
Leviticus 20:16 If a woman approaches any beast and lies with it, you shall kill the woman and the beast; they shall be put to death, their blood is upon them.

Deuteronomy 22:25 But if in the open country a man meets a young woman who is betrothed, and the man seizes her and lies with her, then only the man who lay with her shall die.
Deuteronomy 22:28 If a man meets a virgin who is not betrothed, and seizes her and lies with her, and they are found,
Deuteronomy 22:29 then the man who lay with her shall give to the father of the young woman fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he has violated her; he may not put her away all his days.

Psalm 5:6 You destroy those who speak lies; the LORD abhors bloodthirsty and deceitful men.
7:14 Hey, the wicked man conceives evil, and is pregnant with mischief, and brings forth lies.
12:2 Everyone utters lies to his neighbor; with flattering lips and a double heart they speak.
58:3 The wicked go astray from the womb, they err from their birth, speaking lies.
59:12 For the sin of their mouths, the words of their lips, let them be trapped in their pride. For the cursing and lies which they utter...

Proverbs 19:5 A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who utters lies will not escape.
Proverbs 19:9 A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who utters lies will perish.

Shall we all hold Barack Hussein Obama [a.k.a. Indonesian citizen Barry Soetoro, with a false Connecticut Social Security number], at fault for Loretta Fuddy (the sole fatality in a relatively-recent plane crash) conspiring with Obama's mother Ann Durham to concoct an obviously-fraudulent-photoshopped "Hawaiian" birth cert for Obama.....or Daniel Lucas Smith testifying in court under penalty of perjury that he, years ago, went to Coast Province General Hospital in Mombasa Kenya and obtained from a suspicious hospital administrator a copy Obama's Kenyan Birth Certificate (now posted at both http://layleftlayrite.tripod.com and http://confrontation.faithweb.com along with sundry other internet locations on the Web)?

Obviously, pseudo-"christian" liar Obama [applauding Planned Abortionhood and lighting up the White House with rainbow colors, then supplying anti-Zionist so-called "palestinians" with anti-Netanyahu money and anti-Israeli-security weapons] needs another sermon that perhaps Alan Keyes can give him, instead of more Obamanite coddling with brownie-point-slavery-reparationist rhetoric, bumper-sticker-puffing, and executive-order allowances.

Then ask the lying Clintons about the strange pseudo-"suicide" of the deceased Vince Foster, formerly privy to Hillary's financial shenanigans?

16:19 LORD, my strength and my stronghold, my refuge in the day of trouble, to you shall the nations come from the ends of the earth and say: "Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies, worthless things in which there is no profit."
23:14 But in the prophets of Jerusalem I have seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery and walk in lies; they strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one turns from his wickedness; all of them have become like Sodom to me, and its inhabitants like Gomorrah.
23:25 I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy [forced-racial-integration?] lies in my name, saying: "I have dreamed, I have dreamed!"
23:26 How long shall there be lies in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies, and who prophesy the deceit of their own heart?
23:32 Hey, I am against those who prophesy lying dreams," says the LORD, "and who tell them and lead my people astray by their lies and their recklessness, when I did not send them or charge them; so they do not profit this people at all," says the LORD.

Ezekiel 13:8 Therefore thus says the Lord God: "Because you have uttered delusions and seen lies, therefore, hey, I am against you," says the Lord GOD.
13:19 You have profaned me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, putting to death persons who should not die and keeping alive persons who should not live, by your lies to my people, who listen to lies.
22:28 And her prophets have daubed for them with whitewash, seeing false visions and divining lies for them, saying: 'Thus says the Lord GOD,' when the LORD has not spoken.

Zephaniah 3:13 those who are left in Israel; they shall do no wrong and utter no lies, nor shall there be found in their mouth a deceitful tongue. For they shall pasture and lie down, and none shall make them afraid."

John 8:44 You are of your father The Devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

It has been recorded in Scripture that Peter, more than once when under pressure from interrogators, denied knowing Jesus Christ. Can Saint Peter then be given the reputation as Liar? Afterward, when the resurrected Jesus questioned Peter three times as to whether or not Peter loved Him, and the Lord predicted that when Peter got older, they would lead Peter to where Peter did not want to go...was all that related to Peter lying about not knowing Jesus at the time Jesus was enroute to trial and crucifixion?

Saint Paul said of himself that he formerly was a blasphemer and persecutor against Christians, and did it more than once. Shall the title of Blasphemer and anti-church Persecutor be thus given to Paul, instead of the title of New-Testament-author Apostle?

Numbers 23:19 God is not man, that He will lie, or a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not fulfill it?

First Samuel 15:29 And also the Glory of Israel will not lie or repent; for He is not a man, that He should repent."

Consider this story about ecclesiastical liars:

First Kings 13:1 And hey, a man of God came out of Judah by the word of the LORD to Bethel. Jeroboam was standing by the altar to burn incense.
13:2 And the man spoke out against the altar by the word of the LORD, and said: "Oh altar, altar, thus says the LORD: 'Hey, a son shall be born to the house of David, Josiah by name; and he shall sacrifice upon you the priests of the high places who burn incense upon you, and men's bones shall be burned upon you.'"
13:3 And he gave a sign the same day, saying: "This is the sign that the LORD has spoken: 'Hey, the altar shall be torn down, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out.'"
13:4 And when the king heard the saying of the man of God, which he declared against the altar at Bethel, Jeroboam stretched out his hand from the altar, saying: "Lay hold of him." And his hand, which he stretched out against him, dried up, so that he could not draw it back to himself.
13:5 The altar also was torn down, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of the LORD.
13:6 And the king said to the man of God: "Entreat now the favor of the LORD your God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored to me." And the man of God entreated the LORD; and the king's hand was restored to him, and became as it was before.
13:7 And the king said to the man of God: "Come home with me, and refresh yourself, and I will give you a reward."
13:8 And the man of God said to the king: "If you give me half your house, I will not go in with you. And I will not eat bread or drink water in this place;
13:9 for so was it commanded me by the word of the LORD, saying:'You shall neither eat bread, nor drink water, nor return by the way that you came.'"
13:10 So he went another way, and did not return by the way that he came to Bethel.
13:11 Now there lived an old prophet in Bethel. And his sons came and told him all that the man of God had done that day in Bethel; the words also which he had spoken to the king, they told to their father.
13:12 And their father said to them, "Which way did he go?" And his sons showed him the way which the man of God who came from Judah had gone.
13:13 And he said to his sons: "Saddle the burro for me." So they saddled the burro for him and he mounted it.
13:14 And he went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak; and he said to him: "Are you the man of God who came from Judah?" And he said: "I am."
13:15 Then he said to him: "Come home with me and eat bread."
13:16 And he said: "I may not return with you, or go in with you; neither will I eat bread nor drink water with you in this place;
13:17 for it was said to me by the word of the LORD: 'You shall neither eat bread nor drink water there, nor return by the way that you came.'"
13:18 And he said to him: "I also am a prophet as you are, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the LORD, saying: 'Bring him back with you into your house that he may eat bread and drink water.'" But he lied to him.
13:19 So he went back with him, and ate bread in his house, and drank water.
13:20 And as they sat at the table, the word of the LORD came to the prophet who had brought him back;
13:21 and he proclaimed to the man of God who came from Judah: "Thus says the LORD, 'Because you have disobeyed the word of the LORD, and have not kept the commandment which the LORD your God commanded you,
13:22 but have come back, and have eaten bread and drunk water in the place of which he said to you, "Eat no bread, and drink no water"; your body shall not come to the tomb of your fathers.'"
13:23 And after he had eaten bread and drunk, he saddled the burro for the prophet whom he had brought back.
13:24 And as he went away a lion met him on the road and killed him. And his body was thrown in the road, and the donkey stood beside it; the lion also stood beside the body.
13:25 And hey, men passed by, and saw the body thrown in the road, and the lion standing by the body. And they came and told it in the city where the old prophet lived.
13:26 And when the prophet who had brought him back from the way heard of it, he said: "It is the man of God, who disobeyed the word of the LORD; therefore the LORD has given him to the lion, which has torn him and slain him, according to the word which the LORD spoke to him."
13:27 And he said to his sons, "Saddle the burro for me." And they saddled it.
13:28 And he went and found his body thrown in the road, and the donkey and the lion standing beside the body. The lion had not eaten the body or torn the donkey.
13:29 And the prophet took up the body of the man of God and laid it upon the donkey, and brought it back to the city, to mourn and to bury him.
13:30 And he laid the body in his own grave; and they mourned over him, saying: "Alas, my brother!"
13:31 And after he had buried him, he said to his sons: "When I die, bury me in the grave in which the man of God is buried; lay my bones beside his bones.
13:32 For the saying which he cried by the word of the LORD against the altar in Bethel, and against all the houses of the high places which are in the cities of Samaria, shall surely come to pass."

Perhaps you've heard the legend of the fanatic redcoat communists with firearm choppers who burst into a church, bellering out: "All you who consider yourselves Christians and willing to die for it, stand up and move to the back of the church." After a few people got up and slowly moved to the back of the church, while most of the others silently sat where they were, the terrorists proclaimed: "All you Christians back there, get out now, and make it snappy." After they did, and the terrorists were leaving right before locking the door, the terrorists proclaimed to those sitting in the pews: "Now we know who should be burned after we lock this door and set this place on fire."

The New-Testament book of Hebrews states the following about church saints who have already been sanctified and forever perfected by the offering of the body of Jesus:

Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin deliberately [knowingly tell even one lie] after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
Hebrews 10:28 A man who has violated the law of Moses dies without mercy at the testimony of two or three witnesses.
Hebrews 10:29 How much worse punishment do you think will be deserved by the man who has spurned the Son of God, and profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and outraged the Spirit of grace?

How many of us can claim, in stuffy and self-righteous pride, to be completely lie-free (i.e. totally sinless)?

Psalm 14:3 They have all gone astray, they are all alike corrupt; there is none who does good, no, not one.
Psalm 53:3 They have all fallen away; they are all alike depraved; there is none who does good, no, not one.
Ecclesiastes 7:20 Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins.
Romans 3:10 as it is written: "None is righteous, no, not one...

Considering that telling a lie (under whatever circumstances and conditions) is "sin:"

How many sins, or sin, deliberately done, does it take to make the atonement provided by Christ's sacrifice on a cross non-applicable to the sinner (and thus invalidating any claim of being saved by grace through faith in the gospel apart from good-not-evil works of Law, or being justified by doing good-not-wicked works, not by faith in Christ alone)?

Only one? Or two, during one's entire lifetime? Three or four each week? More? Less?

Consider:

First John 3:9 No one born of God commits sin [like telling even one lie]; for God's nature resides in him/her, and he/she cannot sin because he [or she] is born of God.
First John 3:6 No one who resides in Him sins [or lies, even once]; no one who sins has either seen him or known Him.
First John 3:8 He who commits sin [of telling a lie] is of The Devil; for The Devil has sinned from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of The Devil.
First John 5:18 We know that any one born of God does not sin [even one time], but He who was born of God keeps him (or her), and The Evil One does not touch him.

And:

First Timothy 1:8 Now we know that the law is good, if any one uses it lawfully,
1:9 understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for godless and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those murdering fathers or mothers, for genocide killers,
1:10 immoral persons, sodomites, kidnapers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine,
1:11 in accordance with the glorious gospel of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted.
1:12 I thank Him who has given me strength for this, Christ Jesus our Lord, because He judged me faithful by appointing me to His service,
1:13 though I formerly blasphemed and persecuted and insulted Him; but I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in disbelief,
1:14 and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.
1:15 The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. And I am the foremost of sinners;
1:16 but I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience for an example to those who were to believe in Him for eternal life.
1:17 To the King of ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever. Amen.

Revelation 21:8 But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the polluted, as for murderers, fornicators, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their [eternal solitary-confinement] portion [of not being able to stand or sit or lay down or push against or pull anything] shall be [suspended within] the [invisibly-flaming] Lake that burns with [outer-darkness] fire and brimstone [tormenting them forever with never-ending resurrected-flesh-constantly-being-consumed-but-renewed destruction], which is The Second Death."

How about the [reformed?] harlot Rahab, telling city authority that the Hebrew "spies" escaped (when she actually had hid them in her house out of sight?

Joshua 2:1 And Joshua the son of Nun sent two men secretly from Shittim as reconnaissance agents, saying: "Go, view the land, especially Jericho." And they went, and came into the house of a harlot [Oh yeah! Nice.] whose name was Rahab, and lodged there.
2:2 And it was told the king of Jericho, "Hey, certain men of Israel have come here tonight to search out the land."
2:3 Then the king of Jericho sent to Rahab, saying: "Bring forth the men [the talk of the town!] who have come to you, who entered your house; for they have come to search out all the land."
2:4 But the woman had taken the two men and hidden them; and she said: "True, [attractive?] men came to me, but I did not know where they came from;
2:5 and when the gate was to be closed, at dark, the men went out; where the men went I do not know; pursue them quickly, for you will overtake them."
2:6 But she had brought them up to the roof, and hid them with the stalks of flax which she had laid in order on the roof.
2:7 So the men pursued after them on the way to the Jordan as far as the fords; and as soon as the pursuers had gone out, the gate was shut.
2:8 Before they lay down, she came up to them on the roof,
2:9 and said to the men: "I know that the LORD has given you the land, and that the fear of you has fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land melt away before you.
2:10 For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites that were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed.
2:11 And as soon as we heard it, our hearts melted, and there was no courage left in anyone, because of you; for the LORD your God is He who is God in heaven above and on earth beneath.
2:12 Now then, promise me by the LORD that as I have dealt kindly with you, you also will deal kindly with my father's house, and give me a sure sign,
2:13 and save alive my father and mother, my brothers and sisters, and all who belong to them, and deliver our lives from death."
2:14 And the men said to her: "Our life for yours! If you do not tell this business of ours, then we will deal kindly and faithfully with you when the LORD gives us the land."
2:15 Then she let them down by a rope through the window, for her house was built into the city wall, so that she lived in the wall.
2:16 And she said to them: "Go into the hills, lest the pursuers meet you; and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers have returned; then afterward you may go your way."
Joshua 6:17 And the city and all that is within it shall be devoted to the LORD for destruction; only Rahab the harlot and all who are with her in her house shall live, because she hid the messengers that we sent.
Joshua 6:23 So the young men who had been spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father and mother and brothers and all who belonged to her; and they brought all her relatives, and set them outside the camp of Israel.
Joshua 6:25 But Rahab the harlot, and her father's household, and all who belonged to her, Joshua saved alive; and she lived in Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to survey Jericho.

Job 26:12 By his power He stilled the sea; by His understanding He smote Rahab.
Psalm 89:10 You did crush Rahab like a carcass, you did scatter your enemies with your mighty [short-sleeved?] arm.
Isaiah 30:7 For Egypt's help is worthless and empty, therefore I have called her: "Rahab who sits still."
Isaiah 51:9 Awake, awake, put on strength, O [long-sleeved?] arm of the LORD; awake, as in days of old, the generations of long ago. Was it not you who did cut Rahab in pieces, who did pierce the dragon?

[Men-wimps faint with heat exhaustion during warm weather unless showing off their bare arms with short sleeves].

Colossians 3:9 Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old nature with its practices.

Titus 1:1 Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to further the faith of God's elect and their knowledge of the truth which accords with godliness,
Titus 1:2 in hope of eternal life which God, who never lies, promised ages ago...

Second Corinthians 11:31 The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, He who is blessed forever, knows that I do not lie.

Galatians 1:20 In what I am writing to you, before God, I do not lie!

First John 1:6 If we say we have fellowship with Him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not live according to the truth;
First John 2:21 I write to you, not because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and know that no lie is of the truth.
First John 2:27 ...but the anointing which you received from Him resides in you, and you have no need that any one should teach you; as His anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie, just as it has taught you, stay in Him.

Revelation 3:9 Hey, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie....hey, I will make them come and bow down before your feet, and learn that I have loved you.

Revelation 14:1 Then I looked, and wow, on Mount Zion stood the Lamb, and with Him a hundred and forty-four thousand who had His name and His Father's name written on their foreheads.
14:2 And I heard a voice from heaven like the sound of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder; the voice I heard was like the sound of harpers playing on their harps,
14:3 and they sing a new song before the throne and before The Four Living Creatures and before The Elders. No one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who had been redeemed from Earth.
14:4 It is these who have not defiled themselves with women, for they are virgins; it is these who follow the Lamb wherever He [not "she"] goes; these have been redeemed from humankind as first fruits for God and the Lamb,
14:5 and in their mouth no lie was found, for they are blameless.

We frequently-errant humans often fail to ascertain and take into consideration the short-and-long-term effects of gullibly-presumed lies from deceivers, sometimes miscalled "half-truths" but actually being half-lies, and the far-reaching irrevocable consequences:

Genesis 3:4 But the serpent said to the woman: "You will not die.
Genesis 3:5 For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

Is Satan supposed to be a reliable witness of "what God knows?" And what does "eyes being opened" and "knowing good and evil" have to do with then supposedly not dying, if, then as, that was supposed to be related? Is the false-association misleading comparison of being "like God" supposed to include being immortal and never dying, like God?

Indeed, the moment Eye bit into the forbidden lethal fruit from the forbidden Tree in The Garden, her entire bodily cellular structure began to "go south," go AWOL, deteriorate, and genetic-DNA-coded abnormalities promptly began happen...even though the cumulative effect of all that did not occur until many years later at her complete deathly demise.

How many missed opportunities caused by sin and consequential lack of knowledge at the time, crucial postponements (never to be regained), or precious resources (never to be restored) happen because of our sinning even only once (even though such was committed, and not "performed," under non-solicited duress of temptation from evil sources)?

Virginity, once lost, is never gotten back. That great job opportunity we missed because we were not there on time nor ready at the moment when it came. We slipped and broke our whatever(s) because of our arrogant and impatient lack of awareness of what caused the accidental fall. The man or woman we could have gotten hitched to married someone else because we were too busy wasting ourselves screwing around at that time. Sinfully doing what it takes to succumb to heart attack, stroke, cancer, MS, diabetes, and limb injuries from careless or irresponsible misbehavior are sometimes permanent, and thereafter take the form of incapacitating "life without parole" in terms of being beset and burdened with handicap immobilizing us until the day we die:

Numbers 20:24 "Aaron shall be gathered to his people; for he shall not enter the land which I have given to the people of Israel, because you rebelled against my command at the waters of Meribah."

Numbers 27:12 The LORD said to Moses: "Go up into this mountain of Abarim, and see the land which I have given to the people of Israel.
27:13 And when you have seen it, you also shall be gathered to your people, as your brother Aaron was gathered,
27:14 because you rebelled against my word in the wilderness of Zin during the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the waters before their eyes." (These are the waters of Meribah of Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.)

Psalm 95:8 Harden not your hearts, as at Meribah, as on the day at Massah in the wilderness,
95:9 when your fathers tested me, and put me to the proof, though they had seen my work.
95:10 For forty years I loathed that generation and said: "They are a people who err in heart, and they do not regard my ways."
95:11 Therefore I swore in my anger that they would not enter my rest.

Psalm 106:32 They angered him at the waters of Meribah, and it went ill with Moses because of them.

Second Samuel 24:10 But David's heart smote him after he had numbered the people. And David said to the LORD: "I have sinned greatly in what I have done. But now, LORD, I pray you, take away the iniquity of your servant; for I have done very foolishly."
24:11 And when David arose in the morning, the word of the LORD came to the prophet Gad, David's seer, saying:
24:12 "Go and say to David: 'Thus says the LORD: "Three things I offer you; choose one of them, that I may do it to you.'"

First Chronicles 21:7 But God was displeased with this thing, and he smote Israel.
21:8 And David said to God, "I have sinned greatly in that I have done this thing. But now, I pray you, take away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly."
21:9 And the LORD spoke to Gad, David's seer, saying:
21:10 "Go and say to David: 'Thus says the LORD: Three things I offer you; choose one of them, that I may do it to you.'"

Second Samuel 12:7 Nathan said to David: "You are the man. Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel: 'I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you out of the hand of Saul;
12:8 and I gave you your master's house, and your master's wives into your bosom, and gave you the house of Israel and of Judah; and if this were too little, I would add to you as much more.
12:9 Why have you despised the word of the LORD, to do what is evil in his sight? You have smitten Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and have taken his wife to be your wife, and have slain him with the sword of the Ammonites.
12:10 Now therefore the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised me, and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.'
12:11 Thus says the LORD: "Hey, I will raise up evil against you out of your own house; and I will take your wives before your eyes, and give them to your neighbor, and he shall lie with your wives in the sight of this sun.
12:12 For you did it secretly; but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun."
12:13 David said to Nathan: "I have sinned against the LORD." And Nathan said to David: "The LORD also has put away your sin; you shall not die.
12:14 Nevertheless, because by this deed you have utterly scorned the LORD, the child who is born to you shall die."
12:15 Then Nathan went to his house. And the LORD struck the child that Uriah's wife bore to David, and the infant became sick.
12:16 David therefore besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in and lay all night upon the ground.
12:17 And the elders of his house stood beside him, to raise him from the ground; but he would not, nor did he eat food with them.
12:18 On the seventh day the child died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead; for they said: "Hey, while the child was yet alive, we spoke to him, and he did not listen to us; how then can we say to him the child is dead? He may do himself some harm."

Proverbs 6:15 ....therefore calamity will come upon him suddenly; in a moment he will be broken beyond healing.
Proverbs 29:1 He who is often reproved, yet stiffens his neck, will suddenly be broken beyond healing.
